The
Sean McCarthy Live Passionately Foundation is a foundation which was established
in memorial in 2010 following the sudden death of Sean Michael McCarthy. The Foundation is a non-profit association
organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. The Foundation is run by concerned volunteers.
The mission of the Sean McCarthy Live
Passionately Foundation is to promote academic excellence, leadership,
athleticism, and social awareness in high school and college bound students, foster
a greater awareness of heart health in young athletes, and to improve emergency
medical response efforts at youth and young adult sporting events and other
community events.
The Foundation strives to meet its goal of fostering a greater awareness of heart health in young athletes and improving emergency medical response efforts by promoting the use of automated external defibrillator devices (AED’s) and other lifesaving health care resources at events and through a grant program whereby deserving community organizations are granted AEDs and provided CPR/AED training.
Additionally, the
Sean McCarthy Live Passionately Foundation endeavors to meet its mission by
providing annual scholarships to promising students who, like Sean, have
demonstrated an ability to balance academic excellence, leadership,
athleticism, and social awareness.
